Xu Lejiang attended the Business Leaders’ Dialogue on the 6th World Internet Conference

The Business Leaders’ Dialogue was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, during the 6th World Internet Conference on Oct. 20, 2019.
 


The dialogue, themed with “innovative economy, shared community”, mainly discussed the opportunities and challenges brought by digital economy.
 
Zhuang Rongwen, vice minister of the Publicity Department of CPC and director of the Cyberspace Administration of China, and Xu Lejiang, secretary of the party leadership of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), Feng Fei, member of the standing committee and executive vice governor of Zhejiang, Ke Ruiwen, chairman of the China Telecommunications, and Director General Francis Gurry from the World Intellectual Property Organization, attended the meeting and gave speeches.
 
Xu Lejiang said in his address that digital economy had become an important engine to drive global industrial reform and economic growth.
 
It had been playing a growing role in speeding economic growth, promoting industrial transform and upgrading, nurturing new market and new growing point, creating new employment, and realizing inclusive increase and sustainable development. He said.
 
China’s digital economy had developed fast in recent years and the digital construction had marched into a new phase of all-round and multidimensional construction.
 
He pointed out that digital economy was an important growth point in the high quality development of China’s economy.
 
And he asked private enterprises to take this opportunity and actively blend in such development by speeding technological innovation.
 
He called on combining innovation with coordinated development, which highlighted the leading role of information technology in the digital transformation and energy conservation process of manufacture, agriculture and the service industry, and the IT research and application in coordinated innovation and digital transformation among enterprises in all industries during the in-depth integration of digital and substantial economy.
 
He also called on innovation in core technologies to wipe out “digital gap” for pioneering the future of digital economy, where he emphasized concentrated efforts in weighty and cutting-edge technology including large scale integrated circuit, high performance computing, core chips, and operating systems.
 
He asked to take an open mind and cooperative attitude to share the development opportunity brought by digital economy.
 
Enhancing global cooperation and promoting integrated development is not only the intrinsic requirement but also in line with the primary interest of all countries.
 
He said that the international rules of digital economy should be built together with the concept of opening up and cooperation, and that the managing mechanism should be inclusive, transparent and responsible so as to promote in-depth international cooperation.
 
The session, which invited the leading icons from world internet industries to exchange on integration and innovation, was co-hosted by the China Telecommunications Corporation and the World Intellectual Property Organization.
 
More than 300 attendees from various countries and regions joined the dialogue.
