Pakistani President Arif Alvi met Gao Yunlong

The president of Pakistan Arif Alvi met with Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the China Foundation for Peace and Development (CFPD), in Islamabad on Feb. 15, 2019.

 

Gao reiterated the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership of China-Pakistan relations.

 

The friendship between the two countries had run deep into the heart of the people and the China-Pakistan economic corridor had brought material benefit to the people in both countries.

 

He said that China was willing to promote parliamentary and people-to-people exchanges, and would usher closer cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

Pakistani President Arif Alvi said, China and Pakistan had a timeless friendship that had run through successive administrations. And Pakistan would continue abiding by the one-China principle, standing firm alongside China in issues concerned with China's core interest, and strengthening communication with China on international and regional matters.

 

Pakistan would also join up with China to promote the Belt and Road Initiative and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to a new high.

 

Gao visited Pakistan from Feb. 13 to 16 on the invitation of Pakistani Senate, during which he also met with Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, Leader of the House Senator Shibli Faraz and Engr. Daroo Khan Achakzai, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), and attended the inaugural event held by the “Friends of Silk Road”.
